Plastic has an image problem. However, protective packaging made from this material offers numerous benefits: it reliably absorbs knocks, insulates well, and is also exceptionally hygienic, which is an especially important factor when it comes to shipping food and medicines. What’s more, plastic is recyclable. It is also lightweight, which saves resources during transport. And plastic is the only material that can be used to make ultralightweight packaging materials such as air pillows in the first place.
Such packaging materials not only offer high quality, but are also reusable. By the way, Storopack makes its AIRplus® air pillows from chlorine- and sulfur-free PE film, which does not contain an plasticizers or heavy metals and does not pollute groundwater. Some AIRplus® film types are also made from up to 100 percent recycled material, and AIRplus® Bio films are made from home-compostable or industrially compostable plastic.
